MIKE MORGAN
Chairman
Mike became involved with the SCA Group in 2002 when after meeting with Brian Strevens and Vicky Judge, he began engaging in voluntary advocacy work. He was then shortly afterwards invited to join SCA's Board as a Trustee. Previous to working for SCA, Mike worked within the private sector in both South Africa and the UK, most notably as Managing Director of BTR plc engineering subsidiaries, in both the South and North East of England.
Within his role with SCA he has worked with disadvantaged people through advocacy work as well as contributing to the overall growth of the group.
RAY HALLETT
Treasurer
Ray is a qualified chartered accountant who has represented the SCA Group as a Board member for over ten years. He is also the Director of Business Services for RSM Tenon who are the seventh largest firm of Accountants and Business Advisors in the UK.
As the Treasurer of SCA, Ray is responsible for making key financial and investment decisions for the Group. In addition, he is required to sign annual reports along with other financial documents and implementing strategic financial direction.
GEORGE DIBBEN
Chairman of Fenwick2 Board and SCA Group Board Member
George is the Chairman of the League of Friends of Fenwick2 and Chairman of the Fenwick2 Board. The social enterprise company was set up with the SCA Group to acquire and run the local Fenwick Community Hospital - now Fenwick2 Health and Wellbeing Centre.
George, a qualified Civil Engineer, has been involved with a number of SMEs including leading the acquisition of Cornerstone Estate Agencies from Abbey National and founding the regional radio station Wave 105.
Within his role with SCA he liaises with a number of stakeholders, including local politicians, health professionals and other local authorities. He also takes a role in developing the strategic direction of the Fenwick2 with Brian Strevens and Lisa Dillane (Fenwick2 Co-ordinator).
BRIAN STREVENS
Executive President
Brian Strevens grew up in South East London and then went to Durham University to take a BA in Politics and History. He trained for the Priesthood of the Church of England at Oxford University. Between 1973 and 1976 he was Curate of the inner city parish of Old Trafford in Manchester. He was Curate of Bolton Parish Church from 1976 to 1978 and Organising Secretary of Bolton Council for Voluntary Service. In 1978 Brian moved to Southampton as Organising Secretary of Southampton Council of Community Service where he developed the intermediary service with local statutory bodies and the provider arm.
From 1981 to 2000, Brian was a non Executive Member of Southampton and SW Hants Health Authority, holding the posts of Chair of Competitive Tendering and Audit Committees and Authority Vice Chair. During the 1980s he also served on the Board of Visitors at HM Prison Winchester and Hampshire Family Practitioner Committee.
In 1991, with 12 other Southampton Citizens, he formed Southampton Care Association which is now the SCA Group with five subsidiary Societies and a turnover of £10m.
Brian is married with five children and nine grandchildren. He supports Hampshire County Cricket Club and still maintains his interest for history and politics, finding time to read mainly detective fiction.
HEIDI OLDREY
Deputy Chief Executive
Heidi joined the SCA Group in August 1997. Within the position of Deputy CEO, she has a number of key responsibilities including taking a lead role within SCA Group HR activities and providing strategic guidance. In addition, Heidi focuses on the quality management systems embedded within SCA, alongside being a board member of the Quinn Centre where she plays a key role in providing advice on future direction of the training service.
FAY KIRTON
Executive Commercial Director
Fay has worked for the SCA Group since the organisation began in 1991. She previously worked for the Council Community Service from which SCA evolved and therefore has been involved with the SCA Group and its work for twenty four years.
In her job role she has overall responsibility for SCA Support Services, which includes Transport, Facilities and IT. Fay liaises with SCA's commissioners where she takes a lead role in the contracting and tendering functions of SCA Community Care (Domiciliary Care and Day Centres), and Support Services.
PAM BUTLER
Executive Director of Care
Pam has worked for the SCA Group since April 2002. Pam qualified as a nurse in 1989 and worked in acute medicine until 1994. She then moved into the community and set up a Domiciliary Care service for a new company, successfully growing the business and gaining promotional positions to give her over fifteen years experience within the home care sector.
Within her role as Executive Director of Care, she is mainly responsible for Domiciliary Care and Day Care services, but also advises on all aspects of care for the organisation. She is responsible for the development and performance for domiciliary and day care functions, ensuring services meet contractual and legislative requirements of Local Authorities and the Care Quality Commission.
SAMANTHA SMITH
Director of Dental Services
Samantha joined the SCA Group in 2007. She previously worked as a Dental Nurse and Practice Manager within the dental healthcare industry. She is responsible for five dental practices, located in Gosport, Southampton, Portsmouth and Holbury, which provide dental services for 47,000 patients.
In her day to day role she is responsible for ensuring units of dental activity and other key performance indicators are met, alongside providing support to the dentists and practice managers to ensure a high level of quality is delivered to the service users.
ANDREW PEASE
Group Financial Controller
Andrew has worked for the SCA Group for three years having previously worked for the Warwick University's Students Union. He joined SCA Group as the Financial Controller and has recently taken on the role of Associate Director of Finance. Within this position, Andrew is responsible for ensuring that the accounts are accurate, line managing the financial controller and presenting financial figures to the board. In addition to this, he takes a strategic role in the evaluation of tenders.
JAN GINGELL
Associate Director of Training (The Quinn Centre)
Jan started at the SCA Group in 1994 and has since taken on a number of roles within the Company. Initially she worked as a Care Organiser at the Lymington Domiciliary Care Office where she focussed on delivering Welcome Home, Befriending and Intercare services. From there she became the manager at the Bournemouth office which delivered 'Home from Hospital' and Intercare Domiciliary services.
After taking maternity leave in 1999, Jan became heavily involved with training services, initially concentrating on Moving & Handling training and Induction courses for new members of staff. In 2002 she took on the role of Deputy Training Manager in 2002.
In her current role as Associate Director of Training, Jan has a number of key responsibilities which include:
- Ensuring training delivered from the Quinn Centre is at its highest possible standard
- Ensuring candidates enjoy training and benefit from attendance
- Maintain City & Guilds quality assurance
- Successfully passing Ofsted assessments
(Recently the Quinn Centre was awarded a 'good' rating for training delivered)
MARCUS WRYCRAFT
Associate Director of Support Services
Marcus has worked at the SCA Group since 2001/2002 where he joined after studying International Transport Management at the Southampton Solent University. His first role, which was jointly funded, with SCA was as Transport Co-ordinator for the Outer Shirley Regeneration Centre. He has since moved into a project role which has focussed on business developments, such as writing and applying for tenders and producing the necessary budgets.
In his current role of Associate Director of Support Services, he has a number of responsibilities which include:
- Overseeing the Transport Department
- To develop the Transport Department's Business Plan
- Managing the IT and Facilities of the SCA Group
- To advise on Health & Safety matters
Whilst working for the SCA Group he has also had the opportunity to undertake further study which includes a Diploma in Management Studies.
WENDY WALSH
Associate Director of Care
Wendy has worked for the SCA Group for eighteen months. She started her career as a nurse where she had a vast range of experience including elderly care. From there, she moved into the education sector and the voluntary sector where she ran services for informal carers.
As the Associate Director of Care, Wendy has a key responsibility in the running and development of the Day Care centres. In addition, she deputises Pam Butler within Domiciliary Care, which involves providing guidance and support for SCA's domiciliary care managers based in the Hampshire and Dorset regions.
