Services for a brighter future

Citizens Advice comes to Fenwick2

January 25th 2010

People living in or near Lyndhurst will now be able to get top quality, free advice on their doorstep.

The New Milton and District branch of the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is setting up shop at the Fenwick2 Health and Well-being Centre at Pikes Hill in Lyndhurst and will hold sessions there on the second Monday of each month.

Advice is free, with the first session starting on Monday 8 February 2010.

CAB offers confidential, impartial, independent and cost-free advice on people's rights and responsibilities.  Advisers are fully trained and deal with anything from debt and legal problems to housing and employment issues.

Appointments at Fenwick2 are at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.  Anyone wanting to use the service must book an appointment in advance by ringing 023 8028 2862.

"We are very pleased to make this free service available at Fenwick2," said Centre Co-ordinator Lisa Dillane. "CAB does a brilliant job and it's good to be able to help people in Lyndhurst and surrounding areas to have further access to the service."

Fenwick2 is a short walk from the village centre.  On leaving Lyndhurst in the direction of Cadnam on Romsey Road, take a left turn into Pikes Hill before the police station and follow the road for several minutes.

Fenwick2 is a not-for-profit social enterprise run by Southampton based SCA Group and the Fenwick League of Friends.

Fenwick2 offers a range of community facilities and services including a gym, meeting rooms, a bathing service for the elderly or infirm, a social club for isolated older people, a toenail cutting service, an early assessment service for dementia, NHS long-term conditions services and a wide range of private complementary therapies.
