Social Care Workers and Support Workers
SCA offers a wide range of opportunities to work with people living in the Community. We have bases in Southampton, Lymington, Poole, and Waterlooville from which we provide services in the surrounding areas.

As a Social Care Worker, you could be providing regular or short term help with personal or domestic care for frail, older people living at home Simple things like helping with dressing, or preparing a meal can really make a big difference.

Support Workers work specifically with people who have a mental health issue, or a learning disability. The range of duties can vary, from helping with daily living skills at home or supporting service users in the community with social or therapeutic activities.

Whatever your role, you will find the work varied and rewarding. You do not need any qualifications or experience to apply, all we ask is that you are reliable, caring, patient and trustworthy. You will also need to be a car owner/driver. We are flexible with hours, although we do ask that staff can work some evenings and/or weekends.

SCA will provide you with the necessary equipment and a free uniform and a structured training programme to give you the skills and confidence to do your job well. We offer cultural support and English lessons to Social Care Workers wishing to join us in the UK from overseas.

Our preferred NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) provider, The Quinn Centre will help you gain this valuable recognition of your work at a time, pace and format to suit your needs. Driving Opportunities
Our driving jobs are based in and around the Southampton area and involve driving specially adapted minibuses. SCA Drivers must have a D1 classification driving licence and genuinely enjoy working with older people and those with a disability. We provide full MiDAS training (Minibus Drivers Assessment Scheme), which is a nationally recognised qualification which covers driving skills, legal, health and safety issues.

From time to time we have full and part time vacancies arise. There is a great demand for relief driving staff to cover holidays, sickness or periods of high activity. Opportunities in Day Care
The Day Care service provides activities and support for older people in different venues across Southampton. In addition to which we offer specialist day care services for older people with a mental health issue.

As a Day Care Co-ordinator, you will organise a small team of paid staff and volunteers to deliver a programme of fun and stimulating activities. You will also undertake some administration and record keeping duties.

Day Care Workers support the co-ordinator with activities and help to ensure a warn welcome awaits service users.

Most of our day care vacancies are part time. You do not need any qualifications but must be organised and enthusiastic. We provide full training and ongoing support. Opportunities in Dental Practices
SCA Healthcare Services operates four Trafalgar Clinics offering NHS dentistry in Portsmouth, Gosport, Southampton and Holbury, with plans to open more in the future. All Trafalgar Clinics have access to new equipment and first class facilities, many of which have been purpose built. All staff have access to a coherent support structure, strong managerial support and first rate clinical governance.

As a Practice Co-ordinator you will lead a small team of Dental Nurses and Receptionists. As well as ensuring the smooth running of the practice, you will also provide cover for the staff team.

Dental Nurses assist the Dentist in his/her work, ensuring that our high standards of patient care are met. Some administration work involved.

Dental Receptionists provide a welcoming environment for patients who visit the practice. They are responsible for booking appointments and undertaking routine administration tasks for the practice.  Take a look at our current vacancies to see available Dental Team opportunities.

We welcome enquires from Dentists who wish to work in the UK, and we offer Preliminary Visits to include:
       - First Interviews
       - Visits to our Surgeries
       - An overview of NHS dentistry through meetings with our Head of Dentistry and local NHS Dental
         Advisor
       - A chance to meet informally with other SCA Dentists
       - An overview of cultural issues and what it's like to live in the UK

If you decide to join us, we provide full support to assist you with dental registrations (General Dental Council, PCT performers list and obtaining professional indemnity insurance).
