Home Safe

Home Safe, run by SCA for Southampton City Council, is an independent information or signposting scheme.  It aims to help direct people to services that can support them to remain safe secure and independent in their own home.

The Home Safe service is available to people who live in Southampton.  There is no charge for the service.

A wide range of information about support services is available, including:

  • Home security and fire prevention
  • Aids and equipment
  • Keeping warm and well
  • Managing personal care
  • Assistance with hearing or sight difficulties
  • Maintaining the home
  • Gardening services
  • Counselling and bereavement support
  • Social and Luncheon Clubs including those for minority ethnic groups
  • Benefit advice
  • Help with filling out forms
  • and many more

For more information about the service and how to receive assistance, you can contact the Home Safe Co-ordinator who will then arrange to visit you at home to discuss your needs confidentially, and offer help and advice.

Office hours are 10.30am to 1.30pm, Monday to Friday, however there is a 24 hour answerphone and ALL messages left will be dealt with on the next working day.
