History

The Fenwick Hospital re-opened its doors to the public as a new-look health and wellbeing centre, called Fenwick2, for local people in April 2008. The project won its nominated category in the Health and Social Care Awards in May 2008.

The centre is a social enterprise partnership between SCA Group and the Fenwick Hospital League of Friends and is one of the first in a pioneering new wave of health services run by social enterprises and provides a mix of NHS services and private therapies.

The centre was made possible through the support of partner agencies such as Hampshire PCT, Hampshire County Council and New Forest District Council.

The Fenwick2 Board is chaired by George Dibben, a prominent local citizen, and he is joined by a Board of members with experience of health, social services and voluntary action. Fenwick2 also benefits from SCA’s managerial, financial and personnel services.
