Donate

If you are thinking of donating to SCA Group or any of our seperate divisions (Care, Transport, Fenwick2 or Trafalgar) then we are indebted to you for your thoughtfulness.

Your donation could go along way to help us improve more lives. Whatever and however you choose to give, your generous aid will be helping to support the most vulnerable people in our communities.

SCA Group is an Industrial & Provident Society with charitable aims. This means any profit we make or donations, gift aid, legacies we receive, we reinvest in our communities. Since 1991, our philosophy of reinvesting has seen SCA Group grow to the large organisation it is today, providing support to:

Donations to SCA will contribute to our investments in our local communities. Donations have enabled us to provide:

Ways to Donate:

Donations can be from just a few pounds to larger donations and any amount can contribute to developing stronger, happier, healthier communities for all. If you are thinking of donating to SCA Group we are indebted to you for your thoughtfulness and would be grateful if you could complete the confidential pledge form and return it to us. Ebay
Ebay is a fantastic way to raise money for us and earn money yourself. You can sell your products as per normal but specify a percentage of your final selling price to give to charity. SCA are registered with MissionFish.

Legacy Giving
You may decide to leave a specific gift or sum of money in your will, or donate the remainder of your estate once your family and loved ones have been provided for. You can request your gift to be used for a specific purpose or allow us to use your gift where it is most needed. If you wish to leave a legacy, we would strongly recommend you discuss this with family members and contact a solicitor or professional advisor.

Unwanted Bequests:
If you have been left a gift in a will but aren’t sure what to do with it we could use this gift to support our community work. If the gift was a specific item and has little practical benefit to our cause, we would generally sell this gift to fund our work.

Gifts to charities are tax-free. Charitable bequests are exempt from both Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax.

Gift Aid Explained:
If you are a UK tax payer, charities can claim the tax back on any financial donation you make, providing you have paid at least that amount in tax that year. If you donated £100, the charity could reclaim another £25 from HMRC.

If you are a higher rate tax payer, either at 40% or 50%, you can claim the difference between the basic rate of tax claimed back by charities and your highest rate via your self assessment tax return. From a donation of £100, a charity could reclaim £25 and you could reclaim up to £25.00 if paying tax at 40% OR £37.50 if paying tax at 50%.

To be able to claim Gift aid, charities will need you to confirm you are a UK tax payer.

Inheritance Tax:
Inheritance Tax of 40% is due if all your assets (house, possessions money and investments minus any debt) exceeds the current inheritance tax limit (£325,000 in 2011), unless leaving assets via a will to a spouse or civil partner. Assets left to charities  are exempt from inheritance tax. So, if your assets total £400,000 and you leave £100,000 to your chosen charity, the value of your assets would be below the inheritance tax threshold and no inheritance tax would be due.

For example, if you leave behind an estate worth £500,000 the tax bill will be £70,000 (40% on £175,000 - the difference between £500,000 and £325,000).

Married couples and registered civil partners can pass on their assets and possessions to each other tax-free - this can double the inheritance tax limit, providing the person receiving the assets and possessions has their permanent home in the UK.

Inheritance tax is complicated, we would strongly recommend you seek legal advice.
