Care in the Community

SCA Care have a dedicated team of professional support workers who work with a number of customer groups as follows:

SCA Care's support work service aims to help customers with a range of tasks, enabling them to either maintain their tenancy and general day to day running of their home, or to help them to access the local community safely and confidently.

Our fully trained support workers will help with life skills such as menu planning, organising your budget, help to pay bills, or leisure activities such as visits to the cinema or local swimming pool.

Support work can make huge improvements to a person's life for example, we have supported two sisters, who have learning disabilties and who have lived all their lives with their aged parents. When their parents passed away, we supported the sisters with their move to more suitable accommodation where they could, for the first time in their lives, have their own space and sleep in their own bed. We continue to support them access community facilities, make friends and live more independently from one another. Our support work service has helped open up their world.

"I would just like to say my support worker has been very caring, thoughtful and always helps me out with problems I have going from day to day."

"I am completing the questionnaire on behalf of my husband as he has lewy body disease and rheumatoid arthritis. The visits he has received have been greatly appreciated. I cannot fault the help I have received from SCA and their staff. A big Thank You to them all."
